Ephesians 6:12 (NIV) For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
When we were created, we were created in His image, another words God's image and He's not a person who likes to fight. Since the fall of Adam and Eve, the devil has tried to take over the world to do his dirty work. So he gets to people and uses them to do his battles and that's where we have our fights and wars.
1 Peter 5:8 (NLT) Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.
He is constantly devouring us to do evil. There is a man in the Bible that used the most simplest tool to fight a battle. He fought with the Pharoh and his army. It wasn't a sword, spear and any sharp object that would hurt someone. It was a staff and the man was Moses.
Exodus 4:2-5 (NIV) Then the LORD said to him, "What is in your hand?" "A staff," replied he replied. The LORD said, "Throw it on the ground." Moses threw it on the ground and it became a snake, and he ran from it. The the LORD said to him, "Reach out your hand and take it by the tail." So Moses reached out and took hold of the snake and it turned back into a staff in his hand. "This," said the LORD, "is so that they may believe that the LORD, the God of their fathers~the God of Abramham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob~has appeared to you."
The Lord appeared in that staff, to do signs and miracles for people to see. Besides the staff turning in to a snake, it also was used to have water come out of a rock, water turned in to blood and parted the Red Sea to give escape to the Israelites. But it really wasn't the stick that did it, it was our Lord who appeared in the stick who did all those things so people will believe. Today we have a tool that is just as simple as a staff, that will help us fight our battles.
It is God's Holy Words the Bible. We can use it everyday to help fight our battles. He gives us instructions on how to live and how to do our battles, how to trust him in everything. Only he can help us win our battles.
Ephesians 6:17 (NIV) Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
With Him by our side and the sharpest tool we can use, we can win the battle.
Hebrews 4:12 (NIV) For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow, it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
It is all we need to fight this battle of evil that is spreading like a wild fire.
Psalm 149:6 (NIV) May the praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands,
We have something that wasn't available to Mose in his days. He had his faith and had the opportunity to talk to God pretty much face to face. We too can talk to God and he hears us but we also have His Holy Words that we can read everyday. When we believe, trust, talk to him and read his instructions we will win this battle and there's nothing that will stand in our way as long as we lean on our Lord and Savior.
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT) Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.
Seek his will in all you do,and he will show you which path to take. You won't win if you don't it on your own. Only the Lord can help you win as long as you trust him. Believe and trust Him today and he'll be there with you every step of the way to the end.
